How to get a Canadian Passport in one day.

Abbreviated Version.

• If it is during regular Passport office hours call your closest passport office and tell them you require a passport within one day.   

• If it is after hours or the weekend for the Passport office call Foreign Affairs Canada at 1 800 267-6788 or (613) 944-6788 if you are in Canada or go to http://www.voyage.gc.ca/main/sos/emergencies-en.asp or email This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
  

• They will call you back within an hour usually. 
  

• They will call a duty officer in the city where you live.  Usually only in large Canadian cities.
  

• The duty officer will call you and arrange to meet you at a Canadian passport office.  I suggest you get a contact number from the duty officer in case there is a problem. 
  

• You will need to fill out form PPTC 044 and bring the standard requirements for a passport. There is absolutely no leniency because you need to get a passport in one day.  If your passport has been lost or stolen you will need to complete form PPTC 203

• The process takes about 2 hours and costs about $300.00 but you will have a passport.
